LEGISLATE, WYNKELDER and MOMBELA were all slow into stride. HOIST THE MAST lost 1 length. SNIPER SHOT and BLACK CAT BACK were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. HOIST THE MAST over-raced in the early stages. TOO PHAT TO FLY was hanging in in the final straight. Jockey Fayd'herbe the rider of LEGISLATE reported that he felt something amiss with this horse in the final straight and as a result did not persevere with his mount. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this horse. Vet: LEGISLATE - nothing obvious detected. OUR MATE ART (AUS) - coughing. Scratched: MY PAL AL - card scratching.
