THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SOUTH EAST (P Strydom) jumped outwards and WINTER SMOKE (C Habib) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) EPIC DREAM (D Schwarz) was restless and reared in the stalls shortly before the start was effected. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, SOUTH EAST (P Strydom) which jumped out and WINTER SMOKE (C Habib) which jumped in, came together and bumped resulting in WINTER SMOKE becoming unbalanced. After the incident suffered at the start, SOUTH EAST lost momentum and as a consequence of this, could not be ridden to the lead as intended by Jockey Strydom. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Assistant Trainer A Peter was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this colt on return to stables. b) Jockey G Lerena reported that VISIWAY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. c) SLALOM QUEEN (L Hewitson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer E Lerena advised (RH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) VISIWAY was ridden by Jockey G Lerena (declared 5 November 2020 at 08H27). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) LOOK TO THE SKY raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 29 October 2020 at 14H18). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SOUTH EAST examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) NAAFER (AUS) abnormal respiratory noise. c) VISIWAY no respiratory noise detected post race.
