AEGEAN AIRE - unruly. Refused to load. Scratched. FIRE SONG was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. DID I WIN over-raced in the early stages. PROSPEROUS raced wide on the latter part of the bend and into the straight. In view of the performance of DOT COZA the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Approaching the 200 metre mark TARANAKI hanging out, shifted out from the crop carrying MINDMYMOOOOD outwards. This resulted in MINDMYMOOOO becoming cramped and having to be eased for a number of strides and DOT COZA becoming momentarily inconvenienced. An Inquiry will be held into this incident. A race review was called by a Stipendiary Steward as well as Mr van Zyl (Jnr), trainer of the fifth-placed horse MINDMYMOOOO into this incident. After reviewing the patrol videos from the various angles and considering the distance of a length between these two horses, both parties took no further action. In view of the Starter's Report concerning AEGEAN AIRE, this gelding was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable in the starting stalls with a companion. Suspension dates : 20.6.2018 - 26.6.2018. AEGEAN AIRE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. The Stipendiary Board inspected the bridle used on AEGEAN AIRE and were satisfied with the general condition and that the broken cheek piece was not as a result of wear and tear or neglect. DID I WIN raced with his tongue tied down. Vet: DOT COZA - nothing obvious detected. FIRE SONG - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: AEGEAN AIRE: Refused to load.
