THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NORVALSPONT (O Noach) cast her left front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced by the course farrier, resulting in a slight delay. b) DARK TRAVEL (R Fourie) was restless in the stalls. c) OUR WORLD (S Mbhele) and GOLDEN DAH (A Domeyer) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FLY TO RIO (L Mxothwa) raced wide without cover on the bend. b) When interviewed regarding the improved performance of RIMINI (*J Solomons) compared to this filly's previous run on the 14th September 2020 at Durbanville racecourse, Trainer C Bass-Robinson told the Stewards that RIMINI had been encouraged from a wide draw and had over raced at the front of the field in the early and middle stages, thereafter RIMINI had tired in the straight. The stewards reviewed the previous run of RIMINI, which confirmed this explanation and were satisfied that the filly had been ridden on merit. Trainer C Bass-Robinson's attention was drawn to the Rules regarding in and out running and the stewards will monitor RIMINI's future performances. c) In view of the performance of PERFECT TRUST (C Zackey) (Betting 53/20 : Distance 5.90), the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer AE Sands was requested to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. d) RIMINI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
