PASSION PEACH and REBEL'S BURST were slow into stride. REGAL RUBY took an awkward stride shortly after the start. Apprentice Mbhele, rider of WESTON appeared before the Board and was spoken to with regard to the use of his crop. Jockey Byleveld, rider of REGAL RUBY reported that this filly did not stride out freely in running. In view of the performance from REBEL'S BURST the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. REBELS SPIRIT was hanging out in the latter stages. VELVET DAWN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: NANNA ANNA - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise. REGAL RUBY - returned not striding out behind. REBEL'S BURST - was examined post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. Scratched: SILK TRIP - elevated temperature.
