The start of the race was delayed due to the tongue tie on AMAJORY having to be refitted at the start and MACADAMIA proving stubborn loading. MACADAMIA was stubborn loading. The starting stalls certificate for this filly was withdrawn. ELUSIVE STRIKE lost 1 length. In view of the Starter's report with regard to MACADAMIA, this filly was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable loading in to the starting stalls. Suspension dates: 20 July 2018 to 26 July 2018. MACADAMIA may not be presented for repassing during this period. In view of the performance from CARMALITA (AUS), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer Peter was requested to report back on the condition of CARMALITA (AUS) on return to the stables. Jockey de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with LA COLLOSA in running and did not persevere with his ride in the concluding stages. Apprentice Matsunyane reported that MEMPHIS BELLE did not stride out freely in running. LA ROQUETTE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: CARMALITA (AUS) - examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. AMAJORY - abnormal respiratory noise. LA COLLOSSA - coughing; lame left front. MEMPHIS BELLE - not striding out right front. ELUSIVE STRIKE - blowing heavily post-race. LA ROQUETTE - coughing. LEVI LADY - lame right front.
