The start of this race was delayed due to a new bank of starting stalls having to be transported from the 1400m to the 1000m after a fault was detected with the original stalls. Thereafter VARIETY MOON broke through the front gates, dislodged apprentice Schwarz and bolted the course. This filly was subsequently scratched by the course veterinary surgeon. VARIETY MOON broke through the front gate dislodging Apprentice Schwarz. The Starting Stall Certificate for this filly was withdrawn. ASHDOWN FOREST, PEACH BLOSSOM and VEGA VOX were slow losing one length. ULLA was stubborn loading. In view of the Starter's report with regard to VARIETY MOON, this filly was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable in the starting stalls. Suspension dates: 25 July 2018 to 31 July 2018. VARIETY MOON may not be presented for repassing during this period. Jockey Storey reported that FARARANGA changed stride continually in running. Jockey Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with HUDDLE (AUS) in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Trainer Ferraris was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. ULLA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: FARARANGA and HUDDLE (AUS) - examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. LIQUID GOLD - mouth injury. ELUSIVE CORAL - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: VARIETY MOON bolted the course - immediate reinstatement
