MAPLEWOOD became restless and lost 2 lengths. Assistant Trainer Badenhorst acting on behalf of Trainer Kannemeyer advised to re-school this filly. EETEE, COUNTER FATE, EASY GINGER and LEANNA all lost 1 length. ROCKING RUBY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. CHERRY POP over-raced in the early stages and thereafter was hanging in in the straight. STUNNING SEED shifted in slightly near the 1000 metre mark resulting in CHERRY POP being inconvenienced. Jockey Dillon the rider of STUNNING SEED appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in races in future. EETEE was hanging in in the straight, was baulked on two occasions between the 300 and the 150 metre marks and thereafter was switched in for a clear run. LEANNA raced green. Jockey Samuel the rider of CHASE THE DREAM reported this filly not striding out in the closing stages and as a result he did not persevere with his ride . In view of the performance of MAPLEWOOD the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Vet: CHASE THE DREAM - coughing. MAPLEWOOD - nothing obvious detected.
