THE STARTER REPORTED: a) The bridle on BITE MY LIP(G Behr) had to be adjusted in the stalls. b) BOLDLY GO backed out of the stalls during the delay, dislodged Jockey De Melo, and was reloaded. c) HALLIBERRY (R Fourie) fly jumped leaving the stalls. d) APACHE GIRL (*J Solomons) jumped slow, losing two lengths. e) FORGETFUL GIRL (G van Niekerk) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FORGETFUL GIRL (G van Niekerk) was directed to the outside of APACHE GIRL (*J Solomons) to obtain a clear run at the 400m. b) On his return, Jockey De Melo was examined by the course doctor and cleared fit to continue riding. c) CAPTAIN'S HEIR (*X Jacobs) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J Batt) d) HALLIBERRY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith was advised.
