FUYU was restless and was subsequently removed from the starting stalls, inspected by the veterinary surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded. This caused a delay to the start of this race. FUYU was restless in the stalls. CARI stood, losing many lengths. The starting stalls certificate for this filly was withdrawn. In view of the Starter's report with regard to CARI, this filly was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 10 August 2018 to 16 August 2018. CARI may not be presented for repassing during this period. In view of the performance from FARARANGA, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer Sham will be requested to report back on the condition of FARARANGA on return to the stables. Jockey Kennedy, the rider of TIDAL TUSSLE, briefly lost his left side stirrup iron shortly after the start. At approximately the 850m BANANA REPUBLIC was carried out by DIAMOND GLACE, which shifted out to avoid the heels of ATOMIC KITTEN which was hanging in badly and proving difficult to assist. As a consequence of this DIAMOND GLACE clipped the heels of LAS SALINAS. At approximately the 150m BANANA REPUBLIC was carried in by LAS SALINAS, which shifted in away from the crop. Jockey van Rensburg, rider of LAS SALINAS appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol film of the race and advised to make more of an attempt to keep his mounts on a straight course in future.
