The start of this race was delayed due to a technical problem in the OB van. KILLUA CASTLE (AUS) and BOLD VIKING were slow, losing 2 lengths. Approaching the 200m KILLUA CASTLE (AUS) was carried out by LORD SILVERIO, which in turn was carried out by SECRET CAPTAIN, which shifted out away from the crop. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board regarding this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by Assistant Trainer Mansour on behalf of LORD SILVERIO, against SECRET CAPTAIN being declared the winner, on the grounds of intimidation and interference from the 200m. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward by the connections of both horses and reviewing the patrol film of the incident, was of the opinion that but for the interference LORD SILVERIO would not have beaten SECRET CAPTAIN and therefore overruled the objection and allowed the judges' result to stand. Assistant Trainer Mansour's deposit fee was refunded. At approximately the 150m Jockey Khumalo, RIDER OF LORD SILVERIO, when changing his crop, dropped his right side rein. SECRET CAPTAIN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: DEFY GRAVITY - coughing.
