CAPTAIN IRISH reared repeatedly as the start was effected. Lost three lengths. ELEGANT ROYAL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ARROW'S MARK over-raced in the early and middle stages. In view of the performance of ARROW'S MARK the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Approaching the 400-metre mark DOT COZA shifted out slightly as a result WAR DEMON was momentarily inconvenienced. Passing the 200 metre mark ELEGANT ROYAL shifted out slightly. Thereafter approaching the 150 metre mark NINJINSKY'S SON switched in to continue his run on the inside of ELEGANT ROYAL. A race review was called into the above incident by Trainer Howells which was followed by an objection being lodged on behalf of the second placed horse NINJINSKY'S SON against the winner, ELEGANT ROYAL, on the grounds of taking up the running in the latter stages. After viewing the patrol videos and considering the evidence presented, the Board was of the opinion that but for the incident complained of, NINJINSKY'S SON would not have beaten ELEGANT ROYAL and therefore over-ruled the objection. The Judge's result was allowed to stand and the deposit refunded. In view of the Starter's Report concerning CAPTAIN IRISH , this gelding was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable in the starting stalls with a companion. Suspension dates: 13.8.2018 - 19.8.2018. CAPTAIN IRISH may not be presented for re-passing during this period. HIVA-OA KOI returned post-race having cast the right hind shoe. ELEGANT ROYAL raced with ear muffs. Vet: RACE FOR GRAHAM - abnormal respiratory noise. ARROW'S MARK - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: PAVAROTTI PASSION and WHITE LIGHTNING - no suitable rider.
