GRANDIFLORA pulled hard in the early stages. Apprentice Tarentaal, rider of HILARIA appeared before the Board and was reminded of his obligation to ride his mount out to the end of a race. When questioned regarding the improved performance from SYMPHONY over 1800m today compared to her previous race on 14 July 2018 over 2000m at Kenilworth, Trainer Marshall told the Stewards that in his opinion this filly had tried quickly in the closing stages in wet conditions over 2000m and therefore he felt that she had not stayed the 2000m in the conditions on that day.
