COSMIC MIST jumped awkwardly with its head up and lost 3 lengths. The Starters deemed this to be due to the actions of the Workrider restraining this filly as the start was affected. When taking COSMIC MIST'S history into account of being slow away, Trainer Ferreira was advised to secure the services of experienced riders in future. Workrider Siphika failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse CURRENCY, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer. He was suspended from riding in one (1) workriders' race (date of suspension: 8 September 2018). In view of the performance from COSMIC MIST, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Workrider Matsoele reported that he felt something amiss with TRUCE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Workrider Tivane, the rider of FUYU, appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol film of the race and advised to ride his mounts out with sufficient vigour and determination so as to leave no room for query from the Stewards. The Board took into account that this was Workrider Tivane's first race ride. RED ORBIT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. OLD OAK raced without a tongue tie. Vet: COSMIC MIST - examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. TRUCE - Epistaxis. BURINDI - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: GREENER PASTURES - lame left hind.
