The start of this race was delayed due to the late scratching of OPEN FIRE which refused to load and bolted the course and was subsequently scratched by the Starter. THE SULTANS SECRET was nervous in the stalls. RIO RHYTHM and MOGOK'S TIME were slow into stride. SOUND OF VOICES was nervous in the stalls and thereafter slow into stride. BIG TIME GIRL was withdrawn by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. OPEN FIRE refused to load, dislodged the Jockey and bolted. In view of this report, this gelding was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable loading into the stalls. Jockey Mxothwa struck the horse MOGOK'S TIME unnecessarily when it was out of contention for a place. SOUND OF VOICES was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: MOGOK'S TIME - not striding out in front. BIG TIME GIRL - not striding out in front and withdrawn. FRESHLY GROUND - blood in the mouth. Scratched: BIG TIME GIRL - not striding out in front. OPEN FIRE - refused to load and bolted the course.
