REBUKED lost 1 length. KILLUA CASTLE (AUS) lost 2 lengths. Jockey Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with FULL MAST in running. Leaving the 200m LAKE KINNERET was held up for a run when awkwardly placed between ARCTICA and CAPTAIN ALDO, which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. Shortly before the finish, when racing in close proximity, Apprentice Ferraris, the rider of AFRICA RISING, accidentally struck ARCTICA with his crop. AFRICA RISING was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Apprentice Ferraris did not obtain the necessary permission to carry any form of advertising material on any part of his clothing or equipment during a race meeting. Vet: FULL MAST - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: BEING FABULOUS (AUS) - abnormal temperature. Following the running of race 4, it was brought to the attention of the Phumelela race day manager and the stipendiary board that there was a burst pipe at approximately the 600m. A panel, comprising Trainers, Jockeys, Veterinary Surgeon, Phumelela track manager and race day representative, as well as Stipendiary Stewards, inspected the area. It was the unanimous decision that the track was unsafe to continue racing and races 5 to 9 were abandoned. The two feature races, namely, the ladies stakes and spring spree stakes will be run next Saturday.
