The start of this race was delayed due to the farrier replacing the left fore shoe of INN FASHION and further delay caused by TARIQUE and SEATTLE EMPRESS proving to be stubborn and difficult to load SAMURAI DRAGON, AUF VIEDERSEHEN and ALBRANDINO were slow away and lost 2 lengths respectively. THE LANDLORD was unruly in the stalls. EESHARA was nervous in the stalls. TARIQUE and SEATTLE EMPRESS were stubborn and very difficult to load. In view of the Starter's report with regard to TARIQUE and SEATTLE EMPRESS, these horses were suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable loading into the stalls. The riders of THE GREEK SOLDER and TARIQUE reported that their respective mounts were not striding out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Jockey Khathi, rider of INN FASHION and Ndlovu, rider of RUBY JOY reported that their respective mounts made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. In view of the performance of EESHARA, the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. ALBRANDINO was hanging in in the latter stages. COAL was hanging in over the final 300m. ALBRANDINO and ESTIMET were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: THE GREEK SOLDIER - not striding out right fore. TARIQUE, EESHARA and RUBY JOY - not striding out in front. INN FASHION and AUF VIEDERSEHEN - abnormal respiratory noise. ALBRANDINO - cast left front shoe. ESTIMET - cast right front shoe.
