PROFESSIONAL was slow into stride. Jockey van der Hoven reported that STOP AND STARE did not stride out freely in running. In view of the performance of TAKATUL, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. STOP AND STARE shifted out away from the crop from the 300m. Jockey van der Hoven appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol film of the race and was advised to take more care when shifting ground in races in future (LA). In the concluding stages, IDITAROD TRAIL shifted out sharply away from the advertising boards. IDITAROD TRAIL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. STOP AND STARE raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind. SUPERMAX raced equipped with blinkers and a tongue tie on (declared 8 September 2018 at 07H44). CAPTAIN HOOK raced with club colours (black, blue). Vet: STOP AND STARE and TAKATUL - examined post-race, nothing obvious detected.
