The start of this Race was delayed due to DOING IT FOR DAN having to be examined by the Veterinary Surgeon after getting his leg stuck in the starting stalls and was withdrawn. Thereafter SEA URCHIN had to be examined by the Veterinary Surgeon after rushing the front gates. SEA URCHIN rushed the front gates, removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and was reloaded. DOING IT FOR DAN got his right back leg stuck in the stalls on two occasions, removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and was withdrawn. BULLETING HOME and ISCA lost two lengths. MR ROY lost one length. SEA URCHIN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Approaching the 200 metre mark ROYAL ARMOUR shifted out slightly towards SEA URCHIN. Thereafter approaching the 100 metre mark SEA URCHIN hanging in, shifted in slightly brushing and carrying ROYAL ARMOUR inwards and despite Apprentice Sakayi's effort to maintain a straight course, carried ROYAL ARMOUR inwards shortly before the finish. A race review was called into this incident by a Stipendiary Steward which was followed by an objection lodged by Jockey Khan on behalf of the second placed horse ROYAL ARMOUR against the winner, SEA URCHIN ridden by Apprentice Sakayi, on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. After viewing the patrol video from the various angles, considering the distance between these two horses at the finish and the evidence presented, the Board was of the view that but for the interference, ROYAL ARMOUR would not have beaten SEA URCHIN and therefore over-ruled the objection. The Judge's result was allowed to stand and the deposit refunded. ROYAL ARMOUR was hanging in throughout. In view of the performance of BULLETING HOME, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. In view of the Starter's report concerning DOING IT FOR DAN, this gelding was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time that he proves tractable in the starting stalls with a companion. Suspension dates: 09.09.2018 - 15.09.2018. DOING IT FOR may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Vet: BULLETING HOME - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: DOING IT FOR DAN - Got his right hind leg stuck in the starting stalls and abrasions on the left hip.
