THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MAJOR RETURN (*J Gates) and STREET FLYER (AUS) (M Mjoka) were slow losing one length. b) ATOMIC BLONDE (W Kennedy) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with APOLLO ROBBINS in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Jockey L Hewitson the rider of NEBRAAS accidentally dropped his crop at the 300m. c) At approximately the 300m, BANHA BRIDGE (C Murray) was bumped outwards by MAJOR RETURN (*J Gates) which shifted out away from the crop. As a consequence of this, BANHA BRIDGE had to ease off the heels of TRUE WORDS (S Brown). Apprentice J Gates was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of MAJOR RETURN, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to BANHA BRIDGE (C Murray) when he shifted out at the 300m. Apprentice Gates signed the Admission of Guilt and a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven days was imposed. Dates of Suspension: 20 November 2020 to 26 November 2020. d) FOLLOW MY PATH (*P Mxoli) hung out from the 150m. e) In the concluding stages, NEBRAAS (L Hewitson) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between TRUE WORDS (S Brown) and MAJOR RETURN (*J Gates). f) SECOND BASE (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) STREET FLYER (AUS) was ridden by Jockey M Mjoka (declared 12 November 2020 at 10H29). b) BANHA BRIDGE was ridden by Jockey C Murray. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) APOLLO ROBBINS examined post race, nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
