THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) PIP TO THE POST (T Godden) was hanging in from the 200m. b) DIAMONDS AND TOADS (*J Jacobs) was hanging in, in the concluding stages. c) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning PRINCESS MAXI (*K Strydom), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer P V Lafferty was advised. (Suspension Dates : 16.11.20 to the 14.01.21) d) Apprentice J Jacobs signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse DIAMONDS AND TOADS more than 12 times in the entire Race. In deciding what action to take against Apprentice J Jacobs the Board considered the number of times (15) Apprentice J Jacobs struck the horse DIAMONDS AND TOADS, the distance over which and manner in which, Apprentice J Jacobs used his crop and his record (4) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R2500 was imposed. e) STATE OF MIND (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G H van Zyl advised (SC).
