PUTCHINI and EPIC SWORD were slow into stride. LED ZEPPELIN fly-jumped leaving the stalls losing one length. STRUMMER sat back onto the back gates as the start was affected, and thereafter jumped awkwardly losing two lengths. PHOEBUS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning LED ZEPPELIN and this gelding is suspended from racing for a period of 60 days. Passing the 100 metre mark TOUR OF DUTY was cramped and steadied on the outside of LOTSA SILVER. This incident is to be reviewed by the Stipendiary Board. Approaching the 50 metre PHOEBUS hanging in, despite Jockey Khan's effort to maintain a straight course, shifted in carrying CAPTAIN COBALT inwards onto LOTSA SILVER who had shifted out. This resulted in CAPTAIN COBALT becoming cramped and having to ease losing momentum. In view of the performance of BENFONTEIN, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Vet: STRUMMER - coughing. BENFONTEIN - not striding out behind. LED ZEPPELIN - epistaxis - recommended 60 days suspension.
