LESLIES PATHTOFAME was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Robinson was questioned with regard to the improved performance of LESLIES PATHTOFAME compared to this gelding's previous performance. He explained that this gelding had compounded after racing from the front in that race. For tonight's race, he instructed the rider to race LESLIES PATHTOFAME with cover and this had, in his opinion, accounted for the improvement shown. Mr Robinson has undertaken to race this gelding in a similar manner in the future. The Board noted his explanation and the future performances of this gelding will be monitored. THE GREY CRUSADER became cramped and was squeezed out shortly after the start. LESLIES PATHTOFAME was switched to the inside of ROMANESCA to continue his run at approximately the 300 metre mark. Jockey Khan the rider of KING OF SAMASH reported this gelding coughed in running. MOONQUEST was not persevered with in the final straight. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine KING OF SAMASH and MOONQUEST. LESLIES PATHTOFAME raced in Club Colours. Vet: KING OF SAMASH - nothing obvious detected. MOONQUEST - post-race distress.
