THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DUCHESS OF SUSSEX (S Veale) was restless in the stalls. b) LADY CATHERINE (R Fourie) jumped awkwardly with its head up. c) SHEWALKSINBEAUTY (*J Solomons) jumped slow losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) REGARDS TO ALL (A Andrews) steadied off the heels of VOICE NOTES (K de Melo) approaching the 800m. b) At the 300m GLACIER GOLD (G Cheyne), which raced green, was shifted in sharpy to obtain clear running. c) At the 50m, LADY CATHERINE (R Fourie) had to steady when awkwardly placed close to the heels of VOICE NOTES (K de Melo) which raced green and was hanging out from the 300m, changed stride and shifted out. Jockey De Melo appeared before the Board and was advised that, in similar circumstances, the stewards expect him to be more aware of other runners when his mounts are shifting ground. d) Jockey R Khathi, the rider of AFTER THE STORM, reported that this filly changed strides continuously in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. e) Apprentice J Solomons, the rider of SHEWALKSINBEAUTY, reported that this filly did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. f) GLACIER GOLD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
