THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) TARA ITI (G Cheyne) cast her right front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced by the course farrier, causing a delay.
b) UNBROKEN PROMISES (*X Jacobs) was restless in the stalls, was leaning against the partition, slipped and fell on its side, was unloaded, checked by the course veterinary surgeon and passed fit to race, causing a further delay. Thereafter, UNBROKEN PROMISES (*X Jacobs) stook awkwardly in the stalls, kicked the back gate and as a consequence jumped slow, losing two lengths.
c) NOMORE MR NICEGUY (C Zackey) which was drawn next to UNBROKEN PROMISES, was unloaded, examined by the course veterinary surgeon, found to have a small cut on its inner left fetlock and in the opinion of the course veterinary surgeon, was suitable to race.
d) TARA ITI (G Cheyne) was stubborn loading, had to be hooded and loaded riderless, thereafter jumped slow, losing two lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) BUMRAH (J Smitsdorff) and NOMORE MR NICEGUY (C Zackey) over raced in the early stages.
b) In view of the report from the starter regarding UNBROKEN PROMISES (*X Jacobs), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 19/11/2020 to 25/11/2020 inclusive). UNBROKEN PROMISES may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
c) In view of the report from the starter regarding TARA ITI (G Cheyne), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. d) DOUBLE CHARGE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WA Nel was advised. (SC)
