FLYING WINGER and GIMME HOPE JOHANNA were inspected by the Veterinary Surgeon and declared fit to race, which caused a delay to the start of this race. JUBILEE LINE became restless as the start was affected. TANDAVA (ZIM) and REGAL GRADUATION were slow into stride. Jockey Zechner reported that STRAWBERRY PAVLOVA did not stride out freely in running in the concluding stages. Apprentice Ferraris reported that NEPHRITE took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. At approximately the 300m REGAL GRADUATION was momentarily inconvenienced on the outside of STRAWBERRY PAVLOVA. Thereafter, at approximately the 150m, TANDAVA (ZIM) and REGAL GRADUATION were carried out by JUST AS I SAID, which shifted out away from the crop. BIG MISTAKE and FLYING WINGER were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: STRAWBERRY PAVLOVA - examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. NEPHRITE and REGAL GRADUATION - fatigued. Scratched: WRECKING BALL - insufficient recovery time.
