There was a delay to the start of this race as Jockey Khumalo was injured at the start and declared unfit to ride by the paramedics. A replacement rider had to be weighed out and taken to the start. There was a further delay following a request from the racing operator to hold for a race at Turffontein. In view of the performance of WORLD RADAR , which was hanging in in the straight, the Veterinary surgeon was request to examine. Approaching the 900m, in a tightly bunched field, SOMEWHERE IN TIME and CALYPSO BEAT had to be steadied. MIRAGE raced wide on the bend. CASINO QUEEN raced green on the bend. Approaching the 200m, DRIVING MISS DAISY rolled in slightly, resulting in DRAMA QUEEN and CALYPSO BEAT having to be steadied. Approaching the 150m, DRIVING MISS DAISY rolled out, simultaneously POINT OF SALE rolled in and brushed. Thereafter DRIVING MISS DAISY shifted out, carrying POINT OF SALE and LARENTINA outwards, which resulted in POINT OF SALE being forced to ease. Jockey Dillon was charged with a contravention in that as the rider of DRIVING MISS DAISY he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to POINT OF SALE at the 150m. Jockey Dillon signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. THIRD RUNWAY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Khumalo was injured at the start. Jockey Noach rode SOMEWHERE IN TIME replacement for Jockey Khumalo (injured at the start). Vet: WORLD RADAR - not striding out behind.
