TICKET HOLDER lost one length. FINAL ATTEMPT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. BELLS APOSTLE was carried outwards by MYSTERIOUS OMEN for a short distance leaving the 100 metre mark. Jockey Veale the rider of MYSTERIOUS OMEN appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take stronger measures to correct his mounts when they shift ground in races in future. L'HISTOIRE was switched to the outside of FINAL ATTEMPT near the 250 metre mark. Thereafter L'HISTOIRE was carried out from approaching the 100 metre mark to the 50 metre mark and thereafter was steadied. An Inquiry will be held into this incident. Jockey Lerena the rider of DIVINE PATH reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding near the 200 metre mark and as a result he did not persevere with his ride. The ownership of FINAL ATTEMPT should read: - Late Mr B A Schwegmann & Mr H F Schwegmann & Mr & Mrs R B McGregor and the colours. Vet: ROMANESCA - coughing. DIVINE PATH - nothing obvious detected.
