Due to a severe electrical storm, race times for races 1 to 9 were re-scheduled at the request of the operator. During the loading process, STAR OF GIBRALTAR broke through the front gates. This filly was restrained by her rider, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. This incident caused a delay to the start of this race. STAR OF GIBRALTAR was restless in the stalls and broke through the front gate. The Starting Stall Certificate for this filly was withdrawn. FLY THOUGHT was slow into stride. GEE TEE lost one length. In view of the Starter's report with regard to STAR OF GIBRALTAR, this filly was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading with a companion into the starting stalls. Suspension dates: 2 November 2018 to 8 November 2018, both days inclusive. Jockey Lerena reported that FLY THOUGHT took no interest in running. Jockeys Zechner, rider of DARING DAMSEL and Agrella, rider of CURRENCY reported that their respective mounts changed stride continually in running. Jockey M van Rensburg reported that STAR OF GIBRALTAR became fatigued in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 250m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. SEA LIKE GLASS was hanging out from the 400m. ALGEBRA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: DARING DAMSEL - not striding out left front, right hind and blowing. FLY THOUGHT - examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. STAR OF GIBRALTAR - not striding out right front. CURRENCY - examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: OCEANIA - sprained left front joint. CHARMING ROSE - not striding out.
