THE STARTER REPORTED: a) After being loaded into the starting stalls WHAT A JEWEL (D Ashby) became restless and reared continuously. This filly was taken out and then reloaded, where she continued to rear. Shortly before the start was effected, WHAT A JEWEL (D Ashby) reared again and was restrained by the handler, losing many lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was reviewed with regards to WHAT A JEWEL (D Ashby), where she reared continuously, was taken out and then reloaded. She continued to rear on a number of occasions, had reared shortly before the start was effected and was restrained by the handler, losing many lengths. In view of this WHAT A JEWEL was declared a non-runner in terms of Rule 61.5.10.2 b) In view of the starters report regarding the behaviour of WHAT A JEWEL (D Ashby) today, whilst noting it was her first run in blinkers, the starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 22/11/2020 to 28/11/2020 inclusive). WHAT A JEWEL may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer Reeves was advised that should he intend to race this filly in blinkers in future races, she needs to be passed so equipped. c) IRIS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
