THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GIMME ACES (R Fourie) over raced in the early and middle stages and proved difficult to settle. b) Leaving the 300m, GIMME ACES (R Fourie) was forced to ease for a number of strides when close to the heels of OPERA SWING (G van Niekerk) which was directed inwards to continue his run. Jockey G van Niekerk was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of OPERA SWING, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to GIMME ACES leaving the 300m. Jockey G van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 26/11/2020 to 02/12/2020 inclusive) c) Jockey A Andrews, the rider of SOVEREIGN ROSE, reported that he felt something amiss with this filly. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. d) FORT RED, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JMT Stewart was advised.
