THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CRIMSON KING (C Zackey) was squeezed out shortly after the start. b) HOEDSPRUIT (R Fourie) jumped slow losing one length. c) RASCALLION (A Domeyer) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. b) HOEDSPRUIT (R Fourie) was forced to ease off the heels of SILVANO'S TIMER (K de Melo) which was carried in slightly by a tiring ASHFORD CASTLE (L Mxothwa) leaving the 400m. c) MALMOOS (*L Ferraris) was hanging out in the latter stages. Apprentice Ferraris appeared before the Board and was advised to react sooner when taking corrective measures to keep his horse on a straight course. d) In view of the performance of CRIMSON KING (C Zackey) and ASHFORD CASTLE (L Mxothwa), the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. e) MALMOOS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
