DICKENS and DRY YOUR EYES were slow into stride. Shortly after the start HARTLEYFOUR and JACKO BOY came together and bumped. Approaching the 150m GOLDEN LION was bumped in and carried inwards by HARTLEYFOUR, which shifted in. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board, which was followed by him lodging an objection on behalf of the second placed horse, GOLDEN LION, against HARTLEYFOUR being declared the winner, on the grounds of interference and intimidation in the concluding stages. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence presented by all the parties, was of the opinion that but for the interference GOLDEN LION would have finished in front of HARTLEYFOUR and upheld the objection and amended the judges' result. HARTLEYFOUR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: KING WINTER - abnormal respiratory noise. BILLY THE KID - broke down left front at the pull-up. Humanely euthanased. Scratched: SILVER HUB - shin sore. KINGSTON PARK and ULTRA BOOST (AUS) - ineligible.
