DYNAMITE JACK lifted the left front shoe on the way to the start which was repaired by the farrier. MELIORA lifted the right front shoe on the way to the start which was repaired by the farrier. SHERWOOD FOREST was fractious and broke through the front of the stalls. Bolted the course and was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon. Simultaneously MTOROSHANGA became fractious, was taken out of the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn. The rest of the field were taken out and reloaded. This caused the delay to the start of this race. In view of the report from the Starter regarding SHERWOOD FOREST and MTOROSHANGA, Trainers Marshall and Kruyer will be advised to have these geldings reschooled before their next engagement. Jockey de Melo, rider of ROYAL MARINE reported that this gelding made a respiratory noise in running. Jockey Andrews, rider of PERGOLA reported that this gelding did not stride out freely in running. MELIORA pulled hard in the early and middle stages. In a tightly bunched field DYNAMITE JACK was forced to ease for a number of strides at approximately the 1200m. CARLAS MAMBO was awkwardly placed on the heels of WHAT A SUMMER which was hanging in and shifted in approaching the 50m. WHAT A SUMMER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SHERWOOD FOREST and MTOROSHANGA - scratched at the start. Injured in stalls. DYNAMITE JACK and ROYAL MARINE - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise. PERGOLA - examined post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. Scratched: KING OF ACES - not eating up. ROMMEL - elevated temperature. SHERWOOD FOREST - withdrawn after bolting the course. MTOROSHANGA - injured in the stalls, withdrawn at the start.
