THIS RACE WAS RUN ON THE STANDSIDE TRACK. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PATON'S TEARS (G Lerena) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) This race was run in steady rain. b) MISS ELEGANCE (P Strydom) over raced in the early stages. c) GEE FOR GO (S Khumalo) shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. d) Jockey L Hewitson reported that CARALLUMA (11.50 lengths) choked up in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) GEE FOR GO (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
