THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 300m, GREEN ICE (*K Strydom) was carried out by QUEEN'S PLAIN (W Kennedy) which shifted out away from the crop marginally. b) COZY DOT COM (S Randolph) was hanging in from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey S Randolph reported that COZY DOT COM (6.15 lengths) took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) PURPLE AND GOLD (C Habib) was hanging in, in the concluding stages. d) Jockey M Yeni reported that SHORT SKIRT FLIRT (1.30 lengths) did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performances of LADY SHARON (G Wright) (9.35 lengths, 6/1 in the betting) and LADY QUIN (L Hewitson) (24.85 lengths, 14/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Jockey C Storey signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse PARKDALE more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey C Storey the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey C Storey struck the horse PARKDALE, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey C Storey used his crop and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed. g) MASTERS BEAUTY (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
