The start of this Race was delayed due to the farrier having to replace the left fore shoe on MASTER OF MISCHIEF at the start. TRIPPLE EXPLOSION, UNBELIEVABLE CHAD and EPIC SWORD lost one length. HAYLOR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FIELDMARSHAL FENIX and THE PRIVATE were hanging in, in the straight. TRIPPLE EXPLOSION was switched to the inside of BON BON for a clear run near the 350-metre mark and thereafter was hanging in and was inconvenienced for a short distance on the outside of ROY'S TAXI approaching the 200 metre mark. Approaching the 100-metre mark REAL VISION was hanging in, shifted in slightly resulting in FIELDMARSHAL FENIX being cramped and thereafter being eased. Jockey Dillon the rider of BON BON reported that he felt something amiss with this mare in the straight. In view of the performance of EPIC SWORD the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. THE PRIVATE raced with ear muffs. Vet: BON BON - not striding out left hind. EPIC SWORD - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: PIAGET PRINCE - elevated temperature.
