THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) RUNNING FREELY (S Randolph) was restless in the stalls.
b) IMMORTELLE (C Storey) lost 2 lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) TRANSONIC (S Moodley) raced wide throughout.
b) At the 450m, CHATTERTONS KEEPER (G Wright) was carried out by QUANT MASTER (K de Melo) which was hanging out throughout.
c) At the 300m, RITE OF PASSAGE (A Marcus) which rolled out, was awkwardly placed on the heels of SUPER AGRA (W Kennedy) which rolled in.
d) Jockey C Storey (IMMORTELLE) (9.85 lengths) and Jockey M V'Rensburg (BRIGHT FLAME) (1.20 lengths) reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e) In view of the performance of RITE OF PASSAGE (A Marcus) (11.05 lengths) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning BINARY STAR (L Hewitson), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer A Wright was advised. (Suspension Dates : 24.11.20 to the 22.01.21, bdi)
g) Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse TONIGHTSFIGHTNIGHT more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey S Veale the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey S Veale struck the horse TONIGHTSFIGHTNIGHT, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey S Veale used his crop and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R750 was imposed.
h) QUANT MASTER (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Hill advised (ML).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a) IMMORTELLE raced without blinkers and without a tongue tie (advised 23.11.20/07h13). Jockey C Storey weighed out at 54.1kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight of 53.5kg.
b) BINARY STAR raced with a compression mask (advised 19.11.20/06h32).
c) RITE OF PASSAGE Jockey A Marcus weighed out at 57.2kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight of 56.5kg.
