Light rain continued to fall during the running of the 2nd Race. TORONTO was slow into stride. MR GREENLIGHT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Howells was questioned regarding the improved performance of MR GREENIGHT compared to this colt's previous performance over 1400 metres. Mr Howells explained that in MR GREENLIGHT'S previous race won by 6 A? lengths and further that this colt is suited to the longer distance of today's race. Mr Howells has undertaken to race MR GREENLIGHT over the longer distances in his future engagements. NOBLE BEAT over-raced in the early stages and as a result raced to the front and compounded in the final stages. KING'S COVE was hanging out badly, shifted out over the final 100 metres despite Jockey Dillon's efforts to maintain a straight course. This resulted in IRON BORN having to ease off the heels of KING'S COVE on the finishing line. Apprentice Sakayi the rider of MASTER OF THE SEA accidentally dropped his crop passing the 200 metre mark. MASTER OF THE SEA returned post-race having cast the right fore shoe. IRON BORN raced with his tongue tied down. Vet: NOBLE BEAT - not striding out right fore.
