There was a slight delay to the start of the 7th Race as a result of the farrier having to adjust a shoe on FOUNDING FATHER at the start. Light rain fell prior to and during the running of the 7th Race. GALAXY TUNES lost 1 length. GOLDEN PHEASANT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. HECTOR HEATHCOTE over-raced in the early and middle stages, was hanging out throughout, raced wide on the latter part of the bend and into the straight and thereafter compounded in the closing stages. GOLDEN PHEASANT was hanging out over the final 300 metres. Jockey de Melo the rider of GALAXY TUNES reported this gelding did not act in the prevailing wet underfoot track conditions and as a result did not persevere with his ride in the closing stages.
