Steady rain fell prior to and during the running of the 8th Race. JUST VOGUE, SPRING BREEZE and MARSALA all lost 1 length. CAUSE AND EFFECT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Wright the rider of AHOY ME MATEY reported this mare did not act in the prevailing wet underfoot track conditions and further that she faltered early in the straight and as a result did not persevere with his ride. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. Jockey Kennedy the rider of JUST VOGUE, Apprentice Moodley the rider of LA BELLA and Apprentice Ferraris the rider of DAME COMMANDER reported their respective mounts did not act in the prevailing wet underfoot track conditions. SPRING BREEZE jumped the transition to the Polytrack in the pull-up area dislodging Apprentice Hewitson. Vet: AHOY ME MATEY - nothing obvious detected.
