SHERMAN stood losing 5 lengths. STAND BY ME (AUS) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Campbell was questioned regarding the improved performance of STAND BY ME. He stated that on the run on the 12th September 2018 STAND BY ME had been caught wide from a poor draw and had compounded. On the 28th September 2018 the racecourse veterinary surgeon had found this gelding to be lame on the left fore. These factors had accounted for those poor performances. For the run on the 2nd September 2018 Mr Campbell could offer the Board no suitable explanation for the poor performance. The future performances of STAND BY ME will be monitored. GOT YOUR BACK was hanging in over the final 200 metres. DON PIERRO (AUS) was hanging in in the closing stages. Jockey de Melo the rider of SLIGHTLY SCOTTISH reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. In view of the performance of SHERMAN and SPICE ROADS the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. In view of the Starter's report with regard to SHERMAN this gelding was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 12.12.2018 to 18.12.2018. SHERMAN may not be presented for re-passing during this period. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's Report concerning POIVRE, this gelding was suspended for a period of 60 days. Vet: VIKING RED - over-reach left fore. SLIGHTLY SCOTTISH - fatigued. SHERMAN and SPICE ROADS - nothing obvious detected. POIVRE - bilateral epistaxis. Scratched: NINJINSKY'S SON - elevated temperature. TWO STROKE - change of venue.
