THE STARTER REPORTED A) GILDED AGE was stubborn loading. Trainer J V A Strydom was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement. B) ROYAL SHINDIG and ANCIENT TIMES were stubborn loading and slow into stride. C) SWORDOFTHESPIRIT was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) ROYAL SHINDIG (L Hewitson) and CHERRY CREEK (*L J Ferraris) were hanging in from the 400m. B) Jockey A Domeyer signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he struck the horse JACKSON POLLOCK more than 12 times in the entire race (thirteen (13) times). A penalty of a R1000 was imposed. C) The winner JACKSON POLLOCK was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer C Bass-Robinson advised (LM).
