BELFRY lost one length. BORN RICH was restless in the stalls. KENTUCKY SPUR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Apprentice Hewitson the rider of BELFRY reported this gelding took no interest in running and as a result became detached from the field. Apprentice Gates the rider of BORN RICH reported this gelding making an abnormal respiratory noise post-race. ORPEN LAD was not persevered with over the final 350 metres. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine BELFRY, BORN RICH and ORPEN LAD. Vet: BELFRY - not striding out both fores. BORN RICH - abrasion on the forehead, cut in mouth. ORPEN LAD - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: ROY'S FLASH - elevated temperature. DANCING MOONLIGHT - not striding out left hind.
