WHO SAYS (AUS), RICH HARVEST, FIREFOOT, CIPHER and SOUTH PAW lost one length. WHAT A SCORCHER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Freedman was questioned with regard to the improved performance of WHAT A SCORCHER compared to this gelding's previous performance. Mr Freedman could offer no suitable explanation and the Board adjourned to review WHAT A SCORCHER's previous performance. RICH HARVEST stumbled badly leaving the starting stalls. RICH HARVEST compounded and was not persevered over the final 400 metres. Apprentice Gates the rider of FIREFOOT reported this gelding took no interest in the early and middle stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine RICH HARVEST and FIREFOOT. In view of the performances of ROOT BEER and SOUTH PAW the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. Vet: RICH HARVEST, FIREFOOT, ROOT BEER and SOUTH PAW - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: SIBERIAN HUSKY - respiratory tract infection.
