The saddle on BARONESS MARY had to be refitted causing a slight delay. CORAL BAY was slow losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. In view of the performance from STILL I RISE (AUS), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Jockey Andrews, rider of PERFECTPROPORTIONS reported that this filly made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. Approaching the 1400m MIDNIGHT MOONLIGHT became cramped for galloping room and was forced to ease on the inside of PRINCESS IRENE, which shifted in. Jockey Veale, rider of PRINCESS IRENE was charged with a contravention in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to MIDNIGHT MOONLIGHT at about the 1400m. Jockey Veale was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (w.e.f. 10/01/2019 to 16/01/2019 inclusive). PRINCESS IRENE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. DYNASTY'S BLOSSOM raced fitted with a tongue tie. CORAL BAY raced fitted with a tongue tie. EXPEDITE and BARONESS MARY raced fitted with ear muffs. Vet: STILL I RISE (AUS) - returned not striding out. PERFECTPROPORTIONS - examined post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
