THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) JACOB'S LADDER (A Arries) was hanging in from the 400m, proving difficult to assist. b) ALADO'S PRIDE (*K Strydom) was hanging out from the 300m, proving difficult to assist. c) At the 250m, ELLIS ISLAND (*G Pieterse) which shifted both ways away from the crop from the 300m, was awkwardly placed on the heels of CHAKALAKA GUY (*K Brewer) which had come to the end of its run and commenced to give ground abruptly. d) Jockey A Marcus signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse POLICY TARGET more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey A Marcus the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey A Marcus struck the horse POLICY TARGET, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey A Marcus used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R750 was imposed. e) TIGER TANK (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer N Kotzen advised (DA). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) POLICY TARGET raced without blinkers (advised 26.11.20/17h33). b) WHAT ABOUT YOU raced with a compression mask (advised 27.11.20/09h00). c) GLOUCESTERSHIRE was ridden by Jockey C Storey (advised 27.11.20/09h47). d) ALADO'S PRIDE Apprentice K Strydom claimed 3.5kg of his 4kg apprentice allowance and weighed out at 53.6kg.
