VIVIR lifted its left front shoe en-route the start which was attended to by the Course Farrier. This caused a delay to the start of this race. FREE AND EASY lost two lengths. Jockey Greyling reported that FREE AND EASY did not stride out freely in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 900m. Apprentice Schwarz struck the horse VIDA ES BELLA when it was out of contention for a place. Apprentice Schwarz was dislodged from VIDA ES BELLA shortly before the finish line when attempting to ease this filly out of the race after feeling something amiss. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. VIVIR was hanging in from the 300m. In the concluding stages, ALL AT ONCE was carried in by MIGHTY HIGH which shifted in. ALL AT ONCE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: FREE AND EASY - examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. VIDA ES BELLA - collapsed and died acutely (RS). Scratched: THREE STARS - cast in box.
