The start of this Race was delayed due to the late scratching of AEGEAN AIRE at the start. AEGEAN AIRE refused to load and was withdrawn. SACRED JOURNEY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Approaching the 50-metre mark DAREDEVIL AVIATOR shifted in, away from the crop, and was straightened. This resulted in MAA NONU being carried inwards. Jockey de Melo the rider of DOUBLE DELUXE reported this gelding took no interest in running. In view of the performance of KINGDOM COME (AUS) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. In view of the Starter's report with regard to AEGEAN AIRE this gelding's starting stall certificate was withdrawn and he was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable on a race day with a companion. Suspension dates: 20.01.2019 to the 26.01.2019. AEGEAN AIRE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report with regard to KINGDOM COME (AUS) this colt is permanently suspended from racing. BLACK SAMURAI raced unshod. WHISKEY ROAD raced with steel shoes in front, unshod behind. Vet: DOUBLE DELUXE - nothing obvious detected. KINGDOM COME (AUS) - choked up, respiratory distress. Recommended permanent suspension due to severe respiratory airway obstruction. Scratched: DALLAS - abscess left fore. AEGEAN AIRE - refused to load.
