THE STARTER REPORTED: a) The tongue tie on PACIFIC DUKE (A Marcus) had to be refitted. b) CAPTAIN'S WORLD (S Mbhele) was reluctant to load and was hooded. c) ONE WAY TRAFFIC (K de Melo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the above incidents. b) In view of the report from the Starter regarding CAPTAIN'S WORLD (S Mbhele), Trainer VH Marshall will be advised to have this colt re schooled before his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. c) Jockey S Mbhele, the rider of CAPTAIN'S WORLD (S Mbhele), which raced wide on the bend and into the straight, reported that he felt something amiss with this colt. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. d) CAPTAIN'S WORLD (S Mbhele) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J Batt) e) In view of the performance of HAMLET (A Andrews) which raced wide on the bend and tired in the latter stages, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. f) GALLIC TRIBE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised. (BM) g) HIGH MOON, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
